THE BETA CLOUD

Compare with ITC summary.. The summary describes an unknown scene when a half-dazed Koenig attacks the creature.

A mysterious cloud sends a huge space creature to destroy Moonbase Alpha. Nothing can stop its deadly rampage... nothing except Maya's incredible powers... but even she may be too late!

The moon drifts slowly through a multi-colored cloud of space dust. Depression and loss of will suddenly incapacitates most of Alpha's personnel leaving only a skeleton crew to man the base. Medical center is crammed with patients including Commander John Koenig, First Flight Lieutenant Alan Carter and even Dr. Helena Russell. First Officer Tony Verdeschi, Flight Lieutenant Bill Fraser, Communications Officer Sandra Benes and Science Officer Maya are the only ones manning Main Mission.

Eagle Six, sent out to track the storm, mysteriously reappears on the moon's horizon. Maya's sensors quickly detect no lifesigns aboard the Eagle and Tony and Bill rush over to launchpad 6. They are about to enter the Eagle when the connecting doors slide open revealing a huge, terrifying space creature. The creature rushes forward and crushes two security men to death. Tony and Bill fire their lasers, but the beams bounce harmlessly off the creature. Fraser and Verdeschi race for the travel tube and close the doors just in time. As the tube takes off, there is a tremendous pounding and shaking as the creature rips the tube off its track. Tony screams into his comlock for security men armed with heavy-duty rocket guns.

Then out in space, the peculiar cloud begins to take shape, forming an ominous-looking planet. A thundering voice booms over the big screen, "We have sent someone to take your life-support systems. Do not resist or you will die very violently." The cloud disappears. Weakened by the strange cloud, Tony, Maya, Bill and a handful of security men battle for the safety of Alpha. Fraser sets up a fragile electrical barrier that could short out the base electrocuting everyone. Verdeschi acts as a decoy to lure the creature into the electrical maze. Maya turns into creature after creature trying to battle this unstoppable monster. But nothing seems to work.

Then, in a desperate attempt, a half-dazed Koenig attacks the creature as it falls into a mass of electrical discharges and lightning bolts. As the smoke clears, the creature still stands... how can it be stopped?

BRIAN THE BRAIN

Compare with ITC summary.

A treacherous robot kidnaps John and Helena across the universe to a poisonous planet where nothing can survive!

An intense gravitational pull from deep space latches onto the moon. John Koenig, fearing the grave dangers of a black hole, calls for an evacuation and in the middle of the ensuing confusion, a small spacecraft comes into view heading for Alpha.

The pilot of the craft happily sends his first message in years. It is the spacecraft Swift on a star mission that originated on Earth in 1996. Koenig orders the Swift to land on Alpha for further investigation as Dr. Helena Russell and he go on board to welcome their guest. To their surprise, they discover a completely empty ship. Suddenly, a part of the console detaches itself from the main computer. It has lights, buttons, dials and a three- sided lens on top.

Its name is Brian, a talking, seeing and moving computer. Originally part of a crew of humans exploring this region of the galaxy, Brian is now the only member left.

Though Brian seems harmless enough, he has plans of his own and kidnaps John and Helena aboard his ship. Now heading for the planet where his crew died, Brian tells his story: He purposely lead his crew to a planet with a poisonous atmosphere and killed them to prove himself superior to anything human. After drifting in space for years alone, he realizes that he needs humans for companionship and most important, he needs a human to go out on the planet surface and acquire an energy capsule in his sister ship which was left behind. Holding Helena as his hostage, Brian forces Koenig to follow his orders. But on the planet, Koenig discovers Brian's real need for the energy capsule. There, lying in the toxic atmosphere of the planet, is the real creator of Brian. Were they really from Earth?

Meanwhile, Maya and Tony Verdeschi are planning a dangerous rescue attempt, not knowing the incredible fate of Koenig now that he has met the source of the gravitational disturbance.
