One Moment Of Humanity

Here is part of the final scene from the shooting script. These scenes contained a lot of plot exposition leavened by a jokey tone, typical of Year 2 episodes. When the episode was edited, it was decided to end on a more elegiac note as Zarl dies.

ANOTHER ANGLE

CARTER and another PILOT come in, carrying weather-proof
clothing. The Alphans join him and begin to put on
the clothing.

FAVOR CARTER, MAYA and VERDESCHI.

CARTER

One thing, I know. I never
want to be cold again.

VERDESCHI

One thing I know, I never
want to see another Android.
How about you, Maya?

MAYA

(impishly)

You two know so much, I'm
afraid to have an opinion.

FAVOR HELENA and KOENIG.

KOENIG

That Zarl was quite a ...
robot.

HELENA

Sure.

KOENIG

Good-looking, aggressively masculine.

HELENA

(unsure)

He did have some very nice
qualities.

KOENIG

(a bit peeved)

Is that a testimonial?

HELENA

Just a statement of fact.

KOENIG
