Script To Screen: The Beta Cloud

Script To Screen

The Beta Cloud

Unfortunately it became clear that The Beta Cloud was running short and new scenes had to be written and filmed. In addition, the absense of Koenig and Helena was obvious. Seven weeks later, during filming of The Bringers Of Wonder, new sequences were shot. There was a new prologue, showing Koenig in Command Center and the first effects of the Cloud. There was also a new sequence in the Weapons Section showing Tony and Maya firing the Moonbase lasers at the cloud.

On Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st September, the new Command Center, Medical Center and corridor scenes were shot. The call sheet here is for the conclusion of filming, on 22nd September 1976. The call sheet notes the requirement to match the appearance of the Weapons Section to two months earlier (during the sequence when they distract the Creature over the communications post screens). It isn't perfect: the controls they use (the Eagle remote control from Breakaway, and the nuclear trigger from Space Brain) are new, as is a white microscope which appears in the background.
