The Decimo Timemachine calculator on Koenig's desk moves around in the early scenes, especially when the girl appears and the reverse shot of Koenig looking round.
The spinning lights when Magus first appears are the same effect used when the dragon appears in Dragon's Domain.
After Magus uses the stun gun on himself it materialises back in Koenig's raised hand. Magus then makes his "first day of creation" speech. When we then cut back to Koenig, his hand is still raised but it he is no longer holding the gun. Thanks to Richard Totis.
When Magus disappears the second time, during the fade out you can just see his blue cloak on the left disappearing off screen.
When Koenig and the others walk to the Eagle to try and leave New Earth just after the night has fallen, the zipper of his jacket is half-way up. When Tony says the Eagle has disappeared, Koenig's zipper is open down to his belt. Thanks to Thomas.
During the disappearing Eagle shot the landscape is altered, spoiling the illusion. The tree to the right shifts just off the side of the screen, and the foreground vegetation is rearranged, with a large leaved branch appearing near the centre of the picture.
The sun sets on New Earth - and the sun rises. On the original Earth, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. On New Earth is rises and sets in exactly the same place. This would be possible if New Earth has an oscillating libration rather than rotation- slowly rocking from side to side. Libration is characteristic of small bodies tidally locked in orbits- which is why we only see one side of the Moon.
During the "love" scenes, the image abruptly becomes very soft focus. While the effect was always obvious in standard definition, the HD picture seems even more dramatically blurred.
When Maya transforms into an owl, how does she get onto Tony's arm? Besides, they are supposed not to be able to touch each other because of the magnetic "cocoon". Thanks to Thomas.
After Maya defeats the ape, Magus fires beams at the Alphans. Just before the pink explosions, some of the explosive charges are visible on the ground.
Why does Alan's Eagle take so much effort when Magus shows no visible strain to hold an entire planet together?
At the start of several shots, piles of dust are visible under the jets, ready to be blown into clouds.
In the original standard definition version, when Tony fires at the giant lizard in the cave, one shot shows him pressing the top button and releasing it, but no laser beam is seen. Thanks to Thomas.
In the HD version (seen on the 2015 Network Blu-ray), a laser beam is seen. The beam is identical to others in the sequence, but it seems to be an addition made during the restoration. It is hard to object to such a minor change, unlike the cutting of the Magus stun gun hand.
When the Alphans realise Magus gets his power from the sun, the final shot is abruptly different to the previous shot- Maya is suddenly between Tony and Koenig.
After they have dug the pit, where does all the excavated earth get hidden? They dig a large hole overnight without spades or other equipment, without getting their clothes dirty.
The large uneven heap of vegetation over the pit does not look easy to walk across; Magus could easily walk round on his left and avoid the uneven ground.
As Koenig is lowered into the pit, his commlock is knocked from his belt and falls. A sharp knock is heard as it hits the studio floor. Thanks to Martin Daoust.
Koenig tells the humanoid "We'll take you all back with us!". How many humanoids are there? Does Koenig know and how many could they accommodate in one Eagle? Does the offer extend to the apes?
The exterior shot of the Eagle shows a great chasm opening in the ground below the Eagle door. The next interior shot shows the Alphans rushing in the door (the same port side door). How did they jump across the chasm to reach the Eagle door?
When they boarded the Eagle, it had stun guns and laser rifles. When they leave, they have been removed (by Magus?). Thanks to Simon.
