TONY (in door): "You can say that again."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Maya works at the desk, watched by Reilly. She goes to an instrument: he follows her. She notices him.
MAYA: "We now have close visual contact."
REILLY: "The closer the better."
MAYA: "Oh no, too close, too quickly can be dangerous."
REILLY: "Umm. Definitely." ((laughs))
KOENIG (VO): "Maya. What have you got for us?" ((she leaves))
Helena notes Tony watching them.
HELENA: "She's a big girl, Tony."
TONY: "Yeah. But she's not used to loud mouthed Irish Romeos."

Eagle landing.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Maya, Reilly (watching Maya), Tony (watching the previous 2) & Helena seated.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE (SFX)

Eagle lands.

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

KOENIG: "Not a bad landing, Alan. Not bad."
ALAN: "Not bad? You didn't feel a thing?"
KOENIG: "What's the latest count? How much time do we have before Alpha's out of range?"
Screen displays: 'Moonbase Alpha Distance 2 580 000 miles' & 'Lift Off' with 03 in the hours column & 03 in the minutes (becoming 02)
ALAN: "Ah, yeh, well, if we're not off this planet in about three hours...three hours and two minutes to be exact."
KOENIG: "Three hours. Let's conserve energy. Switch to minimum power." ((gets up))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Koenig tips Reilly's hat as he passes him.
REILLY: "Hey! That's my lucky hat!" ((sees Maya admiring it)) "Never seen one of these before, ay, Maya? Well, that's the trouble with your planet. They never had the wonderful state of Texas."
TONY (as passes): "Or an Irish cowboy."
MAYA: "We had many wonderful things on Psychon."
KOENIG: "Alright, everybody, gather round. All set? We've got exactly three hours."
REILLY: "Commander. In three hours we will have enough milgonite to last Alpha..indefinitely."
KOENIG: "I hope you're right. Maya. Program computer for three hours."
Maya types. The screen displays 03 00.
COMPUTER (VO): "Minus Three Hours To Lift Off."
HELENA: "My turn to mind the store."
KOENIG: "Somebody has to. Tony, stay with her. Let's go."
The door opens. Taking their guns out, they go out.
View looking in: they walk down the steps, leaving Tony & Helena.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

They walk along the harsh landscape.
REILLY (running up bank with instrument): "Why, I..." ((singing)) "I can hear that milgonite call-ing."
They walk on.

They walk on, Reilly studying the rocks.

KOENIG: "Dave?"
They stop, watching a cliff with conical rock before it.
REILLY: "Hello, hello, hello. Well, that's her."

They walk round to find the glowing rock.
REILLY: "Oooh..ho-ho-ho, ho, ho...What a beaut! What a beauty! Ha, ha, ha-ha-ha..! Say hello to Big Dave!"
KOENIG: "I hate to break up your romance with this rock, but we've got work to do."
REILLY: "Ah, the rocks understand me, Commander. Me wives never did, but the rocks do." ((draws scanner))
ALAN: "Ah, the fastest gun on Alpha."
Reilly scans his hand: it clicks.
REILLY: "Right. Well. Get ready to dig for gold." ((tries scanner: no response)) "Hello." ((walks round to them & tries again)) "Now that...that is strange."
MAYA: "What is it, Dave?"
REILLY: "Huh... It's not milgonite."
KOENIG: "What is it?"
REILLY: "I don't know. But there must be a source of energy for that..that glow from somewhere. Let's take a sample back to the Eagle for computer analysis."
KOENIG: "Before we do, let's check it for radiation, or any other dangerous elements."
REILLY: "Right." ((aims fan scanner at it)) "Uh huh. Nope." ((goes round it)) "No. negative."
KOENIG: "Alright, then. Go ahead."
REILLY: "Okay."
The others back & Reilly raises his stun gun. He fires at the rock, & a scream is heard. Reilly smiles.
REILLY: "Right." ((touches cut face of the mother rock: it is moist)) "Hello. Something's off balance."
KOENIG: "Let's find out how off balance."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG: "Computer negative."
REILLY: "I don't buy it. Now, that rock has got to show some geological reaction."
MAYA: "There's no sign of any life form now."
TONY (as Tony looks in microscope at it): "Everybody leave it alone. It's my baby."
A yellow beam envelopes Tony: he screams & collapses. Helena checks him.
HELENA: "He's dead."
COMPUTER (VO): "Minus Two Hours Forty Five Minutes To Lift Off."
The rock fragment glows.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

The parent rock glows.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE (SFX)

Eagle.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG: "Alright, get that thing out of here."
REILLY: "Now hold it."
HELENA: "John."
KOENIG: "I said get it out of here."
HELENA: "John."
KOENIG: "What?"
HELENA: "I'm getting brain wave patterns."
KOENIG: "What?"
HELENA: "They appear normal."
KOENIG: "You say he had cardiac arrest."
HELENA: "Yes. All his internal organs are functioning normally. His heart has stopped... He's alive." ((taking electric pads)) "This may shock his heart back."
KOENIG: "It may destroy the rest of him."
HELENA: "I've got to chance it."
Helena gives him a long electric shock. She then tries again, & a third time.
HELENA: "It's no use."
KOENIG: "He began to respond."
HELENA: "That was involuntary."
KOENIG: "Helena- "
HELENA: "I'm a doctor, John, not a miracle worker! Look, I can cope with the known, but the unknown..."
MAYA: "Tony's brain is still functioning, Helena."
HELENA: "That's one of the mysteries of life, Maya."
KOENIG: "I thought I told you to get rid of that rock!"
MAYA: "You can't!"
KOENIG: "You saw what it did to Tony."
MAYA: "If there's a cure, it's in the rock."
KOENIG: "I don't like the intangibles here, we don't know what the hell we're dealing with. We take him back to Alpha and cure him there."
HELENA: "Maya's right, John. The answer is here." ((beat))
KOENIG: "Alright. But noone goes near that rock, touches it or looks at it, is that clear?"
REILLY (stands): "Well."
ALAN: "Where d'you think you're going."
REILLY: "Out. Out to get what we came here for."
KOENIG: "We've got bigger things to worry us now."
REILLY: "I know. Look, I...uh..I am sorry. Now, I can't do your job. But I'm the geologist. And you can't do mine. And Alpha needs that milgonite. Maya. I am sorry about Tony." ((leaves))
KOENIG: "Alan. Keep him company. I'll be right with you." ((Alan leaves))
MAYA: "Isn't there any way we can reach him?"
HELENA: "His brain is still alive, there's..there's that hope, Maya."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

REILLY (setting up equipment by rock): "Right! Well, that should do it. Uh, -when I tell you, Alan, -that one."
ALAN: "Mm-mm."
He checks the leads the analysers from the rock.
REILLY: "Is it reading?"
ALAN (as it clicks): "Yo."
REILLY (returns to Alan): "Right, let's have a look. Quartz. Orthoglase. Hornblende. Augite. Olivide. Feldspar."
KOENIG (arriving with Maya): "No milgonite?"
REILLY: "No, but there has to be!" ((walks to Koenig & rock)) "I checked the area thoroughly before I asked you to land here. And the computer on Alpha confirmed it."
KOENIG: "You could have made a wrong reading."
REILLY: "Ah, no way, I checked and double checked."
ALAN: "Well, the computer could have had a malfunction."
REILLY: "Now that's the human mind for yah. Doubt and disbelief. The computer checked out every component part of milgonite..and I read it straight. No. Maya, will you..get the microscope for me, please." ((she passes it to him)) "I want to have a look at this.. rock fluid on the slide." ((holds up slide with fluid from rock))
KOENIG: "Now hold it! I told you nobody cuts up that rock, nobody looks at it!"
MAYA: "We have to if Tony's going to have a chance."
KOENIG: "No, it's too dangerous."
MAYA: "But the secretion from the rock won't be as powerful as the rock itself, and with my molecular structure I won't be in as much danger."
REILLY (walks to her to take microscope): "Ah, no, no, no-no-no, no, you don't, little lady. The eyes of Texas are upon me. Ah... is it alright? Wh-, it's only the rock fluid. I'm just going to examine it under the microscope."
KOENIG: "Alright."
REILLY (gives Maya his hat): "Would you mind." ((looks in microscope)) "Well, the, ah, little old Texas heart is still beating."
His POV: a colour splatter.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Helena works with some instruments & looks at Tony. The rock glows. Instruments are more activce. Helena is nervous. The rocks glows fiercely.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

Reilly's POV: colour splatter.
KOENIG: "What do you make of it?"
Reilly stands.
REILLY: "I don't know. It's not the source of power, otherwise I'd have been dead right on my back like Tony. Take a look yourself, Commander."
KOENIG (looking at splatter): "Like blood corpuscles."
REILLY: "Yeah."
KOENIG: "Only they keep separating and spreading."
REILLY: "Well, I reckon whatever it is...it feeds the nerve system of the rock."
MAYA: "Then the rock must be a living organism."
KOENIG: "Obviously the life form our sensor picked up."
REILLY: "Oh yes. It's alive alright."
KOENIG: "And lethal."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Helena uses an instrument. Behind her Tony sits upright. She looks round.
HELENA (nervously): "Tony."
A yellow glow forms over his head. He stands & walks out the door.
HELENA: "Tony!"
The door closes behind him.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

Tony walks along the surface.

The others are by the parent rock.
KOENIG: "What made that rock in the Eagle have the power to strike Tony, and yet here it left us alone?"
HELENA (VO): "John. John."
KOENIG (answering comlock): "Yes, Helena."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

HELENA: "Tony's gone!"

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "What?"
HELENA (VO): "He walked out of here."
KOENIG: "Then he's alive."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

HELENA: "No. Well, I don't know..he must be."
The rock fragment sounds.
KOENIG (VO): "Helena. Helena. Are you alright? Helena!"
HELENA: "John,..I-I think that that rock "

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

HELENA (VO): " has control of Tony. John, I'm scared."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG (VO): "Stay where you are. You're safe in there until we find Tony."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "Alright, let's split up. Let's go."
ALAN: "Right." ((they disperse))

KOENIG: "Tony! Tony!"

Tony walks on.
KOENIG (distant): "Tony! Tony! Tony!"
MAYA (distant): "Tony!"
KOENIG (distant): "Tony!" ((he passes the conical pillar))

Tony walks up to the parent rock. He aims his laser & blasts off a fragment.

ALAN (searching): "Tony! Tony!"

Tony walks out of the rock area past the conical pillar

MAYA: "Tony!"

Tony walks on from conical rock.
MAYA (distant): "Tony!"

Reilly searches.
KOENIG (distant): "Tony!"

Maya returns to the area of the rock.
MAYA: "Commander!"

Alan hears.

Koenig hears.
MAYA: "Commander over here!"

Reilly hears.

Alan arrives at the rock area, followed by Koenig & Reilly.
ALAN: "He's blown another piece of rock off."
KOENIG: "He's been here."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

The door opens & Tony enters carrying the rock. He places it by the original fragment & lies back on bed.
HELENA: "Tony. Tony, can you hear me?"
The two rocks glow & merge. Koenig enters & goes to Helena.
KOENIG: "Helena." ((he looks at Tony)) "You said he was alive. Helena."
HELENA: "Oh, yes, he..he is alive. He came in with a rock, he put it down over there, next to the other one, and they..fused themselves together."
Koenig looks at the rock.
KOENIG: "That does it. We're getting off this planet."
HELENA: "What about the rock."
REILLY: "We must take it."
KOENIG: "Oh, we'll take it. But we'll dump it in space."
REILLY: "We must take it back to Alpha!"
ALAN: "What?"
REILLY: "I need to examine it."
ALAN: "Oh, you need to examine your head. That thing goes."

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

Alan joins Koenig.
KOENIG: "Nothing, no response."
ALAN: "We've got trouble up here!" ((sits)) "All systems are dead."
KOENIG: "Eagle Four calling Moonbase Alpha. Eagle Four calling Moonbase Alpha. Come in, Alpha. Come in, Alpha. Nothing."
HELENA (stands in door; takes comlock): "Moonbase Alpha, "

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Dave looks at rock.
HELENA (VO): " this is Eagle Four. Moonbase Alpha, this is Eagle Four."

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

COMPUTER (VO): "Minus One Hour Forty Five Minutes To Lift Off."

FADE OUT

ACT TWO

EXT. PLANET SURFACE (SFX)

Pan to Eagle.

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

Koenig is with Alan.
ALAN: "Eagle Four to Moonbase Alpha. Eagle Four to Moonbase Alpha, do you read me?, come in?"

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Helena tends Tony & looks at the rock glowing.
ALAN (background): "This is Eagle Four, come in Alpha. Alpha, are you reading me? Alpha, perhaps you're reading me, but we're not getting anything from you. Try to send us anything. Are you receiving anything from us, Alpha? In some way can you try and contact us? Alpha, we are getting no contact with you."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

Reilly & Maya walk to rock.
REILLY: "Well, you take that" ((hands Maya instrument)) "There we are. Right?"

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

KOENIG (to Alan): "Keep trying." ((he leaves))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

ALAN (background): "Eagle Four to Moonbase Alpha, do you read me?"
KOENIG: "How long has it been pulsating like that?"
HELENA: "It's just started."
ALAN (background): "Eagle four calling Alpha."
KOENIG (looking at Tony): "Any change?"
HELENA: "No. He's the same."
KOENIG: "That thing's gotta go. It's too dangerous in the Eagle."
HELENA: "Look, John. Tony is still alive. Maybe we can find some way to break through to it."
KOENIG: "We'll work on that outside."
HELENA: "For God sakes, John, don't go near it, it could kill you."
KOENIG: "So could old age." ((he approaches it cautiously))
ALAN (background): "Eagle four to Moonbase Alpha, do you read me? Eagle Four-"
Koenig approaches it & is shot by a blue beam.
HELENA: "John... Alan!"

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION

Alan gets up.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Alan joins them as Koenig recovers.
KOENIG: "I'm alright. I'm alright."
ALAN: "What's happening?"
HELENA: "A blue light."
KOENIG: "The rock. The rock hit me with a blue light. It caused a paralysing pain."
ALAN: "Blue..it's yellow."
HELENA: "It was blue."
KOENIG: "Yellow, orange and blue. I wonder what colour kills? Did you get through?"
ALAN: "No, no, all communications are dead." ((he moves forward but Koenig stops him)) "I wish it could tell us what it wants."
KOENIG: "Maybe it was trying to communicate. Say something."
HELENA: "Alright. Maybe..it's angry. It's natural habitat is out there, and we've taken it out of it's natural habitat."
KOENIG: "Did we? Or did it bring us to it?"
ALAN: "Maybe it could brain wash the computer into believing that milgonite was here. Oh boy, that's gonna make the cowboy jump for joy."
HELENA: "Then it took over Tony's body, using him to slice off a piece of the parent rock, to bring it back...now, it had the biological powers to fuse itself. Maybe when it..gets what it wants it'll release Tony. What does it want?"
KOENIG: "Alright. One more time. What does it want?"

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

REILLY (picking up instrument by rock): "I don't get it. I've brought in..wild cat oil wells back on Earth, tapped uranium, but...huh..but this... Now there's been water here: that geologically speaking there ought to be water. But the whole planet is like a... like a desert."
MAYA: "What happened to the milgonite?"
REILLY: "Now don't say happened, Maya. Think positive."
MAYA (she takes his instrument): "Well, there's something wrong, Dave: there are clouds above that have dropped no rain. The hydrostat says so."
REILLY (lifts up sand & drops it through his fingers): "Yeah, well, I'm not worried about the rain, that could be an..ecological goof up. I'm looking for milgonite."
ALAN (arriving with Koenig): "Not on this planet, cowboy."
REILLY: "What's that supposed to mean, astronaut?"
KOENIG: "Dave. The computer reading was right. But your source..your source was all wrong."
REILLY: "What do you mean, my source was wrong?"
KOENIG: "The rock, we think. That rock programmed our computer to get us here on the pretence we'd find milgonite. That rock has power,..energy,..intelligence..and purpose."
REILLY (laughs): "You're..you're talking as though it's human!"
KOENIG: "No, it's not human. But it is a life form. What we don't know is it's purpose. And, Maya, I think you can help us find that out."
MAYA: "If I could reach it... I could save Tony."
REILLY: "Now look, Maya, now wait a minute. Look, you've seen what that rock can do!"
KOENIG: "Maya, it can be very dangerous."
REILLY: "Well then why let her do it?!"
KOENIG: "Because there's no other way!"
REILLY: "Because you can't think of one-"
KOENIG: "Have you any suggestions?-"
REILLY: "Not off the top of my head, no!-"
ALAN: "Then give your mouth a rest."
REILLY: "Look, if you don't- "
KOENIG: "Discussion ended!"
Maya transforms into a rock. She pulses.
ALAN: "John. I think she's in communication."
REILLY: "That thing really is alive. And it's talking to Maya. Then it's off it's guard." ((draws laser, but Koenig throws him back)) "I was only trying to see if our weapons could be effective against it!"
KOENIG: "You fool!"
REILLY: "Look, I had it on stun. I wouldn't try to kill it. Well, damn it, it's a geological marvel!"
KOENIG: "Suppose they killed Maya in retaliation to your action?"
REILLY: "I was trying to help Maya!"
ALAN: "To her grave."
May transforms back into herself.
MAYA: "I'm sorry, Commander, I can't communicate with it."
KOENIG: "It's a life form. You can change into anything organic. You should be able to communicate."
MAYA: "It refuses." ((Koenig walks to look at it))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Helena notices the rock glowing green. She takes her comlock.
HELENA: "John."
KOENIG (VO): "Yes, Helena."
HELENA: "The rock changed colour."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

HELENA (VO): "It's green."
KOENIG: "Helena. Get out of there."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG (VO): "That could be the death colour."
She goes to the door but a green spotlight casts it's light in front of her. She edges back, but another appears behind her. She takes her comlock again.
HELENA: "John."
KOENIG (VO): "I told you to get out of there, Helena!"
She edges forward but the spotlights close her in.
KOENIG (VO): "Helena. What's going on in there?"
HELENA: "It won't let me go."
KOENIG (VO): "Are you alright?"
She finds herself unable to move.
HELENA: "Yes. It doesn't.. seem to want to hurt me." ((pause)) "It seems to be holding me hostage."
The spotlight travels over boxes.
KOENIG (VO): "Helena. Helena. Are you alright?"
HELENA: "It seems to be searching for something."
The spotlight moves over the boxes & passes her. She then darts to the door & uses her comlock..but the spotlight catches her.

KOENIG (VO): "Try to get out."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG (to others): "Stay put." ((runs up))

EXT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG (VO): "Helena, are the star charts still flashing?"
HELENA: "No, it's just stopped. The screen's blank."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "Now, listen, Helena. We think that rock is trying to get off this planet. If it is, Tony's going to have to do his rock gathering bit again."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG (VO): "The second he leaves the ship I want you to alert us. Okay?"
HELENA: "All right."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "Let's move."
They move off.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Helena looks at Tony & the rock.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

They reach the parent rock.
KOENIG: "Alright. I want the two of you to stay clear of the action. We'll take care of Tony."
MAYA: "What are you gonna do?"
KOENIG: "We can't let him take any more of that rock into the Eagle."
ALAN: "Well, how are we gonna stop him?"
KOENIG: "Stun him. Maybe if we hit him hard enough we can loosen the rock's hold. I want the two of you to get behind those rocks and keep out of sight. Alan, you come with me." ((they go to opposite sides of the area))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Tony's head glows & he sits up. He goes to the door & leaves. The door closes & she takes her comlock.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

Koenig takes his comlock.
HELENA (VO): "He's out, John."
KOENIG: "Okay. Stay where you are." ((draw guns)) "Make sure that gun's set on stun."

Tony walks.

Mother rock.

Reilly hides with Maya. She looks at him
REILLY: "You too, huh? You think the rock is all I care about."

Tony walks on.

Tony enters area of rock. He takes his laser out & fires a blue beam at the rock. Tony is stunned by Alan & Koenig & disappears in a glow. His stun gun & comlock remain.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Tony appears on the bed.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

They all walk to where Tony was.
ALAN: "What happened?"
MAYA: "Maybe the energy added to the rock's power has affected his molecular structure."
KOENIG (answers comlock): "Yes."
HELENA (VO): "John. Tony has reappeared..materialised."
MAYA: "He was transported!"
KOENIG: "Helena. We just hit him with our lasers, hoping it would loosen the rock's grip on him."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Tony raises his arm, & groans.
HELENA: "He's moving; he's making some sounds."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

MAYA: "The sudden power surge has weakened the rock."
KOENIG: "Now, that means it's most vulnerable now. If we can take Tony's comlock, we can open that Eagle door." ((beyond Reilly takes Tony's comlock))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

KOENIG (VO): "We have Tony's comlock. We're going to use it to try to open the Eagle door."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

ALAN: "I've got his laser."
KOENIG: "Where's his comlock?"
ALAN (as Reilly runs off): "Hey, cowboy!"
KOENIG: "He's gonna do something stupid!" ((they run after))

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

HELENA: "Tony?"
TONY: "Owe, Helena. What happened?"
COMPUTER (VO): "Minus One Hour Thirty Minutes To Lift Off."
HELENA: "Come on. Let's get out of here."
As they go to the door Reilly bursts in.
REILLY: "Out, both of you, out!"
TONY: "Quit your shoving!"
Reilly moves up to it with his laser, but the green light focuses on him. He cannot fire the laser, then he drops it. Yellow light now focuses on him.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

Helena helps the weak Tony along.
HELENA: "Alright, now, come on. Take it easy. You'll be alright."
MAYA: "Tony!" ((they meet up))
HELENA: "He'll be alright now, Maya."

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "Come in, Dave. Come in, Dave. Come in, Dave!"
ALAN: "Maybe he's dead."
KOENIG: "No, if it wanted to kill us, Helena would be dead now."
ALAN: "Then he's been taken over like Tony was. Oh, he had to go charging in there!"
KOENIG: "We owe him for that. It got Helena and Tony out. How are you doing?"
MAYA: "The laser gun is taking longer to adapt than I thought."
KOENIG: "How much longer?"
MAYA: "Not long."
KOENIG: "Are you sure it will work?"
MAYA: "Four laser beams fired together will create enough heat to dry up a reservoir."
ALAN: "Well, then it's a cinch to dehydrate the rock, weaken it!"
MAYA: "Perhaps kill it."
KOENIG: "If we have to, then we have to."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Rock pulses.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

KOENIG: "Better get ready, Maya."
HELENA: "For what?"
KOENIG (as Maya gives him laser): "If that rock is using Dave, he should be coming out any time now."
ALAN: "We can't risk letting Dave bring any of the parent rock back."
KOENIG: "That rock could become too powerful to beat if it gets reinforcements. Alan. Get close to the Eagle. Tell us the second he comes out."

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

The rock pulses. Reilly rises, picking up his laser & leaves.

EXT. PLANET SURFACE

ALAN (running up): "Here he comes."
KOENIG: "Maya. You know what to do."

Reilly leads them through the rocks.

INT. EAGLE PASSENGER SECTION

Reilly enters, then Koenig & Alan- but the blue light then freezes them.
COMPUTER (VO): "Minus Fifteen Minutes To Lift Off. Range Critical."
Reilly places Maya/rock by the fragment. She starts to be pulled to it. Her face is seen superimposed over the rock.
MAYA: "Commander! Help me!"
KOENIG: "Maya! Get out of there!"
MAYA: "I can't! It's pulling me towards it! But you can break it's grip! It's using most of it's power to fuse me! Break away now! Break away now!"
They drop to the floor. The rock changes from blue to red.
ALAN: "The rock's turned red!"
MAYA: "Red is death! Red is death!" ((spotlight searches for them)) "Use your laser gun! Dehydrate it!"
Koenig fires at the rock: all four beams hit it & it turns black. Maya turns back into herself.
ALAN: "Easy, Maya."
KOENIG: "Okay, it's okay. You're alright, you're alright, alright. Alan, how's he?"
ALAN (checking Reilly): "He's okay."
KOENIG: "Call Helena and Tony. We're getting off this planet."
ALAN (uses comlock): "Helena. Tony. Get back here now."

MAYA: "We can make them give it up! Nucleoid active crystals, we've got plenty on board."
REILLY: "Of course, we can make it rain by dropping the crystals on the clouds."
HELENA: "You set it up." ((she goes forward))

INT. EAGLE PILOT SECTION
