The Moon comes across a small planet that scans show to be rich in Milgonite, a rare
mineral vital for the life support systems. A team of Alphans fly to the planet to do
a full geologic survey and find there is no Milgonite on the planet; the scans were
falsified by a mineral creature to lure them to the planet. The creature is dying of
thirst on the barren world and plans to use the Alphans and their resources to save
itself.
