Moonbase Alpha is approached by a group of Mark IX Hawks, Earth war ships coming
from an alien planet. When the planet ignores all attempts at contact the Hawks
are attacked and destroyed. The planet retaliates with a devastating attack that
kills 1/3 of the Moonbase personnel and renders Alpha unlivable.
