On 28th April 2016, Barbara Bain was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a popular tourist attraction along along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California. Barbara's was the 2579th star, and is located at 6767 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of The Stella Adler Theatre where she has directed plays (Google map).
The unveiling: Dick Van Dyke, City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell, Barbara Bain, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Leron Gubler and Ed Asner.
Ed Asner and Dick Van Dyke gave speeches in the ceremony. Barbara starred with Ed Asner in a 1969 episode of Mission Impossible and the 2015 short Pacific Edge. Barbara corrected Ed when he referred to her as "Millicent" (her birth name was Mildred). Barbara had a memorable comedy role in a 1963 episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show and appeared in a 1997 episode of Dick Van Dyke's series Diagnosis Murder. Dick Van Dyke's own Walk of Fame star got his name wrong: Dick Vandyke.

Fans awaiting the ceremony came from all across the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Belgium and the Canary Islands. Susan Landau Finch threw a "Toast to Barbara" afterwards at Aventine, a rustic Italian restaurant, and all of the fans were invited to that as well. More pictures on Barbara's Twitter feed
