The first to feature the Eagle, there was also a title shot from the series in the catalogue. Note the Eagle doesn't have the chequer-squares that appear in the art (and decals) for later models - or even the Alpha Moonbase crests.
This is the 16th edition of the Airfix Kit Catalogue, published in 1979. It is 66 pages long, including covers. Each genre of kit has a 1 or 2 page introduction, often with comments from a subject expert. For space, this was astronaut Claud Nicollier, who would fly on 4 space shuttle missions, 1992-1999. The Eagle first appeared in the 1976 catalogue (13th edition), the Hawk and Starcruiser in the 1978 catalogue (15th edition), the Angel Interceptor in 1968 (6th edition), and the Orion 2001 ship in 1969 (7th edition).
