Breakaway Lost Scenes

This is scene 47, in Koenig's office. It is shortly after the first scene above, where Gorski had visited Koenig. Koenig has just told Ouma he wants him to look for a correlation between the training flights and the flights of the shuttle pilot, Collins. Helena calls him (at one point a crew member says "Buzz" to indicate the sound of the commlock) and enters the door (the rough noise of the sliding door is heard on the soundtrack).

Crew: "52 take 1. Quiet. Action."
Koenig: "Yes?"
Helena: "Commander, I have the autopsy reports on the two..."
Landau: "How was that for position?"

Crew: "52 take 2. Action."
Koenig: "Yes?"
Helena: "Commander, I have the autopsy reports on the Meta Probe astronauts."
(door slides open masking Helena's opening line)
Helena: "...the other cases are undeniable. The brain damage was less severe. The survival period was longer. Otherwise they are identical in every way to the other victims."
Koenig: "And the shuttle pilot?"
Crew: "Mark it." (Clap)
Landau: "How was that?"

Crew: "Ready. Action."
Koenig: "Yes?"
Helena: "Commander, I have the ... I have something, I don't know what."

Crew: "52 take 6. Action.
Man: Buzz.
Koenig: "Yes?"
Helena: "I have the autopsy reports on the two Meta Probe astronauts."
Koenig: "Alright."
Door opens.
Helena: "The similarities to the other cases are undeniable. The brain damage was less severe. The survival period longer. Otherwise they are identical in every way to the other victims."
Koenig: "And the shuttle pilot?"
Helena: "The same. No variation at all."
Koenig: "Strange Commander Gorksi never accepted any of your findings."
Helena: "Yes, he's made it very difficult."
Koenig: "Was there any friction between you and him, of a personal nature?"
Pause.
Helena: "What has Commander Gorski told you?"
Koenig: "He's made certain references."
Helena: "To what? (noise heard over)

Crew: "46 take 1. Go."
Helena: "The similarities to the other cases is undeniable.
  The similarities ...
  The similarities ...
  The similarities between... excuse me, what is it, tell me?"

Crew: "46 take 2.
Helena: "The similarities to the other cases are undeniable."
Crew: "One more."
Helena: "The similarities to the other cases are undeniable."
Crew: "Thank you very much."

Crew: "Ok, take 1. Action."
Helena: "The brain damage was less severe and the survival period longer. Otherwise they're identical in every way to the other victims."
Koenig: "The shuttle pilot?"
Helena: "The same. No variation."
Koenig: "Strange that Commander Gorksi never accepted any of your findings."
Helena: "He's made it very difficult."
Koenig: "Was there ever any connection... uh..."

Crew: "47 take 2."
Helena: "The brain damage was less severe and the survival period longer. Otherwise they're identical in every way to the other victims."
Koenig: "And the shuttle pilot?"
Helena: "The same. No variation."
Koenig: "Strange that Commander Gorksi never accepted any of your findings."
Helena: "He's made it very difficult."
Koenig: "Was there any friction between you and him? I mean of a personal nature?"
Pause.
Helena: "What has Commander Gorski told you?"
Koenig: "He's made certain references."
Helena: "To what? My lack of judgement?"
Koenig: "In a sense."
She exhales. Helena: "He indicated an interest in me at a certain point. I did not reciprocate. That perhaps was my lack of judgement."
Koenig: "I see. Thank you, doctor. I'm going to rescind all of Commander Gorski's instructions on the computer."
Helena: "Thank you. Commander, there has to be a link between the ..."
A crew member reads out Ouma's line: "Commander... those flight recorder tapes..." Crew: "Cut."
