Famous Spaceships

Famous Spaceships of Fact and Fantasy was published in June 1979 by Kalmback Publishing. Kalmback was a US publisher primarily of railway modelling subjects, and from 1986 the general modelling magazine, Fine Scale Modeler. See Cybermuseum for the US edition.

In late-1980, the UK model publisher MAP (Model and Allied Publications) re-published the original volume in the UK, with a new introduction by Ray Rimell and a 2 page kit update by Mat Irvine. MAP also published Scale Models magazine (since 1969; later Scale Models International), hence the additional flash on the cover. The text says that the Mat Irvine's article is updated to August 1980, but there is no publication date apart from the original 1979 Kalmback date.

Kalmback eventually republished Famous Spaceships of Fact and Fantasy in a second edition in 1996, with a new cover.
