Myron Fass (1926-2006) was at one time the publisher of the most magazine titles in the US, from men's magazines to true life crime to gun titles. In the mid-1970s, that included science fiction film and TV titles. With attractive covers, they stood out on the news stands, but the interiors were black and white, using poor quality paper and murky photos, sometimes with a central colour photo section.
Several of his titles covered Space: 1999, including Space Wars (Vol.2 No.3, June 1978), Star Warp (Vol.1 No.2, June 1978) and Video Super-Hits Space Odysseys (Vol.2 No.1, April 1977). The Space Odysseys magazine has no credits, but almost all the articles in the other two titles were written by Allan Asherman (later to write The Star Trek Compendium, 1981), Tom Rogers and Douglas Murray.
The photo of the black girl (Venicia Day) on the last page is an unusual publicity photo from a deleted scene in The Seance Spectre. Thanks to Jerome Wybon
