Harrow Observer, Friday 12 November 1976 p26
Twelve-year-old Steven Francis, of 63 Manor Way, North Harrow, recently spent a day at Pinewood Studios as one of the winners of a contest held in conjunction with the film At the Earth's Core. With him went his mother, Mrs. Gwen Francis. At the Studio Steven visited various film sets, where he met Martin Landau (Cdr. Koenig in Space 1999) - they are pictured together below - and former TV giveaway show hostess Monica Rose (above), who helped him demonstrate just how heavy film "rock" can be. He also met the producer of At the Earth's Core, John Dark, the director Kevin Connor, and the art director Maurice Carter, who designed the monsters in the film. After lunch at the studios, Steven received from John Dark a gift pack and scroll to commemorate his visit. He also got vouchers which entitle him to a year's supply of ice cream!
At the Earth's Core had been released in July 1976, long before this visit. Koenig is wearing his spacesuit for The Seance Spectre, which completed on 1st November.
