Videogaming Illustrated was launched in 1982 as the home video game market was exploding (with consoles such as the Atari 2600 and Intellivision). It ran for 14 issues until 1983 (when the gaming console industry crashed). This title was edited by Jeff Rovin, a veteran of Famous Monsters of Filmland, SF cinema books including Movie Special Effects and Tom Clancy novels.
The magazine featured a half-page section "Star Words" with various celebrities commenting about video gaming; Martin Landau appeared in the first issue, August 1982.
