Fan Clubs
Mission: 1999

Debbie Phares started The National Alliance of fans for Martin Landau and Barbara Bain with their newsletter Mission: 1999 first published in July 1979. In September 1980 the club became The International Martin Landau-Barbara Bain Fan Association. In June 1981 (volume 3 number 2) Phares stepped down, and vice-president Terry Bowers took over. The club finally received approval from Landau and Bain in 1981, when the club became The Official Landau Bain Fan Association ("LBFA"). After the Landaus divorced, the club was split into two parallel fan clubs in 1992, Martin Landau Aficionados and Barbara Bain International. Terry Bowers ran both clubs until 2005.
