Viewmaster: War Games

Viewmaster discs were 9cm in diameter, with 14 images on Kodachrome film, comprised of 7 stereo pictures.

US reels are labelled A,B,C with the title "War Games", with the serial numbers BB 4511- BB 4513.
UK reels are labelled 1,2,3 with the title "The Power of Fear", with the serial numbers D 1501- D 1503.
To view the reel first picture, you had to insert the reel into the viewer slot the correct way. US reels have the text "Up for Viewer" and "Up for Projector"; UK reels merely have a "V" and a "P" with arrows.

The image descriptions on the reels are completely different for US and UK discs (not just spellings of "centre"/"center"). The US version is better at explaining the story, while the UK version has some baffling jumps, particularly the third disc. The UK version (like all European reels) use guillemets (« ») for quotation marks.

In the US, each reel (A,B,C) images are numbered 1-8. In the UK all images are numbered consecutively across the reels (1-21).

US: Moonbase Alpha was threatened by warships from nearby planet
UK: John Koenig scans the screen with growing anxiety

US: Commander Koenig ordered his ships to fire on the aliens.
UK: "Is it an attack?" he asks his assistants

US: One of the alien Hawks came dangerously close to Alpha.
UK: "Those are war aircraft!"
This is the bomber, not a Hawk

US: Tensely, Alpha's staff watched the space battle.
UK: Everybody studies the screen

US: One of Alpha's Eagle warships took off from a pad-
UK: The Eagle fighters take off

US: -but exploded when a Hawk laser beam struck it.
UK: The base is bombed.

US: The enemy's laser attack blasted Main Mission!
UK: Direct hit on the control centre

B1 - 9
US: Medical Center was damaged too. Air was leaking out into space
UK: "Oxygen is escaping" reports Helena

B2 - 10
US: "John, we have an atmosphere leak!" Helena told Koenig.
UK: The medical centre has to be evacuated

B3 - 12
US: Nurses dragged patients to safer areas. Alpha was doomed!
UK: Helena takes care of the wounded

B4 - 11
US: Flying down to the planet in an unarmed Eagle-
UK: A giant bomber appears on the screen
The UK description is weird- this is an Eagle (as seen in A5), not the bomber (seen in A3)

US: Koenig and Helena planned to seek permission to colonize.
UK: Koenig and Helena speed towards the red planet

B6 - 13
US: The landscape of the strange planet was beautiful.
UK: "Isn't it beautiful" exclaims Helena

US: In the planet's control center, aliens sat in glass cases.
UK: A woman is silhouetted in a glass cage

C1 - 15
US: When Koenig threatened, the aliens shot him down.
UK: "You've killed him" cries Helena

C2 - 16
US: "Stay away from me!" said Helena. "I'll shoot!"
UK: "Do not shoot" says the Alien

C3 - 17
US: Koenig escaped but the alien force fields exploded his Eagle-
UK: Carter has linked up with Koenig

US: -and Koenig floated helplessly in space.
UK: Koenig floats in space

US: Sharing the alien "thought" power, Helena willed Koenig safe.
UK: Helena too has found peace

UK: "As we must die, let's go back to Alpha" says Koenig
