This is a letter from year 1 star Barry Morse to stars Barbara Bain and Martin Landau, dated Tuesday 20 January 1976, The Landaus had returned to London on the 13th, and moved into their new house on Sunday 18th, in preparation for filming The Metamorph starting on Monday 26th January.
On Thursday 4th December 1975, Barry Morse had been given an initial offer for Space: 1999 second series, and had made a counter-offer. Morse tried to contact producer Gerry Anderson, but when they finally contacted him on Wednesday 17th December to accept the offer, they were told "other plans made", and he would not be in the series.

My dear Barbara and Martin -
It was so good to talk to you on Sunday and most kind of you to think about my headaches when you've only just touched down.
if it turns out that I'm not to be with you in Space, I want to wish you well with it all -
If I do stop being an Alphan (and become an Omegan?) one of the things I shall most keenly and genuinely miss will be the joys of working with two such warm chums and good pros.
One way or another I shall hope to see you ere long.
Love to you both -
Barry
