The Catacombs Breakaway Lost Scenes

This is the original version of scene 3, in the Nuclear Disposal Area Depot as Bergman and Helena watch Nordstrom and Steiner entering to check the radiation. The sound reel is dated 28 December 1973. In the final episode they are alone, but in the original version they are joined by Gundlach, the chief of the disposal area, played by Michael Sheard. This scene has his only speaking line.
Breakaway Breakaway

Crew: "Action."
Helena asks: "Are they normally out there as long as this?"
Gundlach answers: "One hour is the limit. Just as a precaution. But until recently we have never had any accidents"
Bergman: "So far their brain activity seems to be normal."
Helena: "So far. But if there's any variation, any variation at all, I'm pulling them out."
Now we can hear Technician Nordstrom speak (the lines are probably read by the director). "Unit twenty three reporting. Radiation count - normal."
Morrow appears on the TV screen (Prentis Hancock speaks the line just off camera). "Dr. Russell, Professor Bergman"
Bergman: "Yes."
Morrow: "Commander Koenig's E.T.A. is in thirty minutes ... at two three three five."
Helena: "Thank you, Paul." She turns back to Bergman. "I hope he's the right man."
Crew: "Very nice."
"If he isn't, we can always get another..." says Barbara Bain and laughs.
