In the list of "scariest cult TV ever" in issue 13 (October 1996), Troubled Spirit is number 13.
This was an attempt by a series otherwise known for 'serious' Sci-Fi to tell a plain. old- fashioned ghost story and quite a successful attempt it is too. Dan Mateo (played by Giancarlo Prete) is indulging in experiments in telepathically communicating with plants when something goes wrong and a mysterious spectre begins to haunt Moonbase Alpha. Soon, the spectre reveals itself as the ghost of a man who is still alive — Mateo himself.
The most chilling thing of all in The Troubled Spirit must be the deformed ghost of Mateo: so horrific was it that many of its scenes were left on the cutting room floor. But what's left is quite frightening enough...
