Script To Screen

Fraser and Alibe (Sahn in the script) are flying towards Entra. Koenig is forced into an enclosure while Elizia refuses them permission to land, but Fraser insists "We're coming in to land. Shooting if we have to."

Devil's Planet Devil's Planet

Koenig insists "We do not commit mindless violence." and Elizia archly replies "How you do deprive yourselves of pleasure." The scene ends there, cutting to the Eagle where they are told they are cleared to land. The scripted scene had an additional sequence in which the interrogator shows some stock footage found in Koenig's brain.

Scenes 96 and 98 were filmed on Monday 8th November 1976, and the stock shots were listed on the shooting schedule; the dialogue below was shot but must have been deleted.

ELIZIA

You said it wasn't in your
character to commit violence.

His memory banks ... do they
show war?

INTERROGATOR

We have the history of his

ELIZIA indicates that they should be flashed on the

FAVOR ELIZIA

As she turns furiously toward KOENIG.

ELIZIA

You lied.

KOENIG

No I didn't. That was past...

She touches the button on her belt, cutting him out.

Devil's Planet

Stock shots were also required for an earlier scene in the security ward, when the interrogator shows Koenig's thoughts on the screen (scenes 64-70). These were shots from earlier episodes. In each, the specific shot and episode was specified in the script. One shot, of Maya turning into a monkey from A Matter of Balance, was not used. The shot of Koenig kissing Helena was originally from Journey To Where, but was changed instead to the kiss from Bringers Of Wonder part 1.

The script contains the note:

(Note: The above library shots should include only the following artistes - Martin Landau, Barbara Bain, Catherine Schell and Tony Anholt.)

This was presumably to avoid paying appearance fees to the other cast.
