far from altruistic.

On a volcanic planet, the lives of the
Alphans are threatened by an alien sci-
entist named Mentor. He needs their brains
for the psychic energy his biological
computer (Psyche) requires to transform
the planet's surface back into the para-
dise it once was. One Alphan, Ray Torens,
has already joined the living dead after
having his mind fed into Psyche. Koenig
refuses Mentor's request for submission
and the alien unleashes Psyche's power on
Moonbase. Unable to stop Mentor, the
Alphans must base their hopes on Maya,
Mentor's beautiful daughter. Totally un-
aware of how fanatical her father has
become in pursuit of his dream, Maya
is shocked into facing reality. She is
forced by Koenig to look in the caves
beneath Psychon where the "brain-drained"
are kept to dig for metal ores by Mentor.
She decides to confront her father. In
the ensuing struggle, the biological com-
puter is put out of commission., But the
destruction of Psyche unleashes the vol-
canic fury of the planet, bringing death
and destruction to the inhabitants of
Psychon.

Hundreds of tiny capsules lock into orbit
around the Moon. Recovering one of the
capsules, the Alphans bring it to an iso-
lated security launch pad miles from the
base. Inside, they find the body of a
young boy. He is carried to Medical Cen-
ter and revived. Stating that his name is
Cantar, he claims his people, who are or-
biting the Moon, were exiled from their
home world by invaders. Although Koenig
allows the capsule containing Cantar's
wife Zova to land, he hesitates in re-
trieving the others. Alpha cannot support
the additional people, but Cantar says he
can modify the life-support system. Koenig
allows the alien to try it, but Cantar
really intends to adapt the life-support
system into a transporter. Helena and
Tony are kidnapped to the alien's home
world where they learn that Cantar and
Zova are psychotic killers. Cantar plans
to invade his home world and resume con-
trol.
