Zamara and Zarl

Zamara and Zarl need Tony and Helena to teach them the ways of expressing
violent emotions. The androids seek to kill their human creators but lack
the knowledge of violence.

Alan, Helena and John being burned at the stake

The time warp has thrown the Alphans back to medieval Scotland, during
the days of the dreaded Black Plague. Scots tribesmen capture them, mistake
Helena's cold for the Plague, and prepare to burn them all.

Without warning, the power throughout
Alpha dies. In a flash of light Zamara,
of the planet Vega, appears in Command
Center demanding that two Alphans return
with her to Vega. If they do, Alpha's
power will be returned. Helena and Tony
are the ones chosen to teleport back to
Vega. There, they discover that Zamara
and her poeple are a race of superandroids
and, what the pair at first assume are
robots, are really the Vegan humanoids.
The Vegans wear their robot guise because
the androids learn from observation. The
automatons want to destroy the humanoids.
However, they have never seen violent
emotions before and cannot, therefore,
express them. That is the purpose of
bringing Helena and Tony over. Failing
to elicit the needed reactions from the
two Alphans, Zamara brings Koenig and
Maya over. A male android, Zarl, seduces
Helena in front of Koenig who attacks the
android in a jealous rage. They have
seen; they have learned. Now they can
kill.

From out of the void comes a voice call-
ing from Texas City, planet Earth! A
breakthrough in neutronic technology has
allowed not only audio-visual contact,
but will allow the Alphans a chance to
be transported home via teleportation.
Koenig, Helena and Alan are the first to
enter the transference beam, but an earth-
quake on Earth damages the equipment and
the trio find themselves displaced in
space and time. They soon discover that
they are on Earth in Scotland, and the
year is 1339. Hostile tribesmen capture
them, but because Helena is sick with a
fever, the Scotsmen think they have the
Black Plague and prepare to burn the trio.
Unless Maya can track them by their bio-
monitors, Texas City cannot bring them
back!
