Thunderbirds In Outer Space

This was a 1981 compilation film made by ITC New York (led by "creative production coordinator" Robert Mandell) in the Super Space Theatre series. Other films included Space 1999 compilations Cosmic Princess and Journey Through The Black Sun. This one is a compilation of two episodes of the Gerry Anderson puppet series "Thunderbirds". The title sequence is a fine example of early 1980s video graphics, featuring a number of spaceships (animated still photos) zooming past between each credit. Some of the rockets are from Thunderbirds, some from Captain Scarlet, and mostly from Space: 1999. It is particularly odd to see a Hawk going past before the credit to special effects director Derek Meddings.
