SFX footage from the World Backgrounds library. The library contains many alternative takes and longer shots (sometimes including clapperboards). A few examples have appeared on the Network DVDs bonus disc, but many have never been seen. Episode shots are outlined in red, all other shots from the library.
Terra Nova as seen from space. 20 seconds. Used on Main Mission Big Screen
(HD) Terra Nova with the Moon foreground right. Slowly (over 38 seconds) Terra Nova becomes smaller, as the Moon moves right. Seen briefly (and apparently static) in the episode between the command conference (scene 21), and when Lee first wakes and talks to Helena (scene 22). A clapperboard is briefly visible at the start, but flared out and unreadable.
Seen in the music video for Calling International Rescue by Fuzzbox (1989)
Static shot of Terra Nova landcsape, with misty swamp. Not seen in episode (possibly after the storm). In the World Backgrounds library there are two takes, each 15 seconds. In HD theer is one 20 second take.
Where the Eagle stood, a fire burns (not a very convincingly large flame). After 20 seconds it starts issuing white smoke. A long 35 second take, not seen in the episode (we see the Eagle explode).
Planet surface- static for 10 seconds until dust storm arrives from right, then carries on for 37 seconds. A longer different version to that seen in the episode.
Seen in Dr Who Nightmare of Eden episode 1 (1979)
In the storm - 47 seconds, part of which is seen in episode. Oddly, flopped left for right.
Seen in the music video for Dust In The Wind by Kansas (late 1970s-early 1980s)
