SFX footage from the World Backgrounds library. The library contains many alternative takes and longer shots (sometimes including clapperboards). A few examples have appeared on the Network DVDs bonus disc, but many have never been seen. Episode shots are outlined in red, all other shots from the library.

Zoom into space, with gas clouds moving past. Seen in episode (with transparent Eagle flying into space). Initial clapperboard dated 1 April 1974, slate number illegible. 24 seconds.

Slow zoom to nebula. In the episode, it is rotated 180 degrees and the Eagle and other elements added.

Same nebula, with more elements, zoom similar to episode without Eagle.

Start of the epilogue; after leaving the black sun, the Moon travels through space, from foreground bottom of screen to distance in centre. 16 seconds.

Nebula. Foreground stars are zooming out. Seen on Big Screen only (also in Another Time, Another Place). 17 seconds.
