Greg Jein Collection

Greg Jein (wikipedia, 1945-2022) was a Hollywood SFX model maker who worked on Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind and numerous Star Trek films and series. He was also a collector of SFX models, props and costumes. In the 1980s he bought a number of Space: 1999 items from Starlog writer David Hirsch (who in turn had got them from the Space City exhibition). They were sold at auction in October 2023.

Most of the lots went to a single bidder who also bought lots of other classic TV and film lots. Only the Helena spacesuit went to a different bidder.
