Script To Screen

There are two short scenes that were scripted and filmed when Zantor exchanges himself for the power converter. In the episode, we skip directly from Zantor offering himself as hostage in Main Mission (scene 78), to the scene in the corridor when Zantor shakes hands with them (scene 80). The Power Station scene, 79, was shot on Monday 18th March. The start of corridor scene, 80, between Zantor and Simmonds, seems to have been moved into the Power Station set and filmed there at the same time (the rest of the corridor scene had been filmed on Friday 15th).

78 CONTD:

ZANTOR steps forward in front of the screen and
addresses SIMMONDS.

ZANTOR

Commissioner, you need our
co-operation. It is my wish
that you replace the Converter
Unit, and I will be your hostage.

79 INT. POWER STATION. 79

SIMMONDS stands facing the door, his laser gun
pointing at the TECHNICIAN. The door slides open.
ZANTOR stands in the doorway. KOENIG appears on
the screen of the Communications Post.

KOENIG

(on TV screen)

Trade off, Commissioner.

ZANTOR steps forward. SIMMONDS turns his laser
against ZANTOR. The TECHNICIAN is left holding
the Unit.

SIMMONDS

(smiling, to KOENIG)

Earthbound, Commander.

SIMMONDS and ZANTOR walk out into the corridor.

80 INT. CORRIDOR. 80

SIMMONDS walks ZANTOR slightly ahead of him. As they
walk the lights return to normal. ZANTOR reacts to
this.

ZANTOR

Would you really have destroyed
your people?

SIMMONDS

They're not my people. I despise
them. Keep walking.

They walk into the reception area of the travel tube
entrance.

KOENIG, HELENA and BERGMAN are there. KOENIG,
ignoring SIMMONDS completely, steps forward to shake
ZANTOR by the hand.
