Script To Screen

End Of Eternity script, illustrated by Martin Landau

Johnny Byrne's shooting script for End Of Eternity is dated 2nd October 1974. Pink page amendments were added between the 4th and 8th of October. In this script page, Balor fights Alpha's security guards. The 4th October line amendment, shown below, removes some stage direction so Balor's motivations are not obvious at this stage in the story.

Martin Landau decorated his script with extensive doodles.

The SECOND TWO SECURITY MEN are on BALOR. They start
to club him with their lasers, and a moment later
they are reinforced by the first TWO SECURITY MEN.

A furious struggle ensues. BALOR knocks two of the
men unconscious, by slamming them back against the
corridor wall. The THIRD SECURITY MAN, he lifts up
bodily and smashes down on the information desk,
demolishing it.

The LAST SECURITY MAN is clubbed to the ground.

(It is obvious that BALOR has enjoyed the battle.
During it his face is alight with excitement).

KOENIG and CARTER come round the corner and take in
the scene.

BALOR is surrounded by the groaning, unconscious bodies
of the SECURITY MEN.

KOENIG

Stun him.

CARTER pulls out his laser and fires.

The laser beam arcs out and hits BALOR. It has no
affect. BALOR starts to walk towards them.

CARTER

(panicking)

It has no effect, Commander...

KOENIG

Full laser.

CARTER swiftly resets the selector and a more powerful
laser beam shoots out and hits the advancing BALOR.

This time BALOR staggers.

BALOR

Wait - Please - Please...
I must talk to you.

HOLD ON KOENIG'S AND CARTER'S reactions.
