Script To Screen

The Exiles

Shooting for this episode began on the Life Support Complex set. Filming was completed on the set on February 19th and then moved to Koenig's quarters, including the scenes with Helena's clay head (the Art Department had to prepare several "repeats" of the head, so it could be replaced between takes).

Meanwhile, David Lane filmed the shots of the stars for the Year 2 title sequence, and some pick-up shots for The Metamorph. Further filming for the titles would take place on Thursday 26th, when Brian Johnson filmed shots of a buzzard and white Alsatian for Maya's transformations, and Friday 27th, when a camera crew from Bray visited "M" stage to film the close-up of Catherine Schell's eye.

Although director Ray Austin completed filming The Exiles with an extended day on Monday March 1st, additional scenes were filmed by Kevin Connor over 3 months later. This added sequence featured Maya as a gorilla rescuing Petrov; it was filmed on June 7th.
