Script To Screen

New Adam, New Eve

They are now on the planet. Helena's speech, annotated by Landau in his script, was reworked to say "He's shown god-like powers, but the way that he's shown them, his methods,... I don't know. Two plus two doesn't make four."

TONY

I'm glad you think so.

MAYA

It's still here, but some
power he's exerting is keeping
its particles dispersed - like
a powder dissolved in a liquid.

TONY can't help being impressed.

TONY

Could he really be what he
says he is? ... I mean ...
God? ... Jehovah?

MAYA

They are simply names your
species has given to an all-
powerful being they believe
exists, but whom they don't
understand.

TONY

So he could be God?

KOENIG

If he'd come down to Earth
a few years back a lot of
people would have said so.

HELENA

He has many attributes we
regard as divine, but no,
I don't think he's what we
call God. He's flawed
somewhere - I can sense it.

Obviously John has felt that all along.
Koenig has sensed this from the beginning-
why shouldn't he be more vociferous now -
This sort of line should be his.

TONY eyes the hamper. They return to it.

TONY

(to MAYA)

How's his food?

MAYA reads the food with an instrument.

MAYA

It is not poisonous

TONY

That's something, anyway.
