HD The Metamorph

The Metamorph was remastered in high definition in 2005 and first released on Blu-ray in 2010. The previous release was the Carlton DVD release released in 2001. The screen captures here are compressed for the web; the actual Blu-ray image is even clearer.

The impressive detail of HD is evident in this shot. Notice also the HD image shows slightly more around the margins.

Special effects are particularly enhanced by HD.

The sets also look better in HD, but occasionally flaws are visible: here the top left of the picture reveals bare wood and nails. It was also visible on the Carlton DVD, but the in HD the wood grain is clear.

The A&E DVDs fixed the poor contrast and dull colours of the UK Carlton DVDs, but the result had too much contrast. The HD image has a more realistic contrast.
