Plateia, a magazine covering cinema, TV, theatre and radio, devoted most of the April 1983 issue to the series, including a centre-page poster.
How The Series Was Created
Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, accompanied by Barry Morse, fly into a spectacular and amazing future when they participate in Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's series "SPACE 1999".
Filmed in England for ITC, the series consists of 24 one-hour episodes, produced in association with RAI (Italian Radio and Television).
All the programmes have the allure of science fiction on a scale never before attempted, pushing the fantasy of production to new limits.
This also means that Martin Landau and Barbara Bain - husband and wife in real life - can be seen on television screens again. "Space: 1999" is the first series they've starred in together since their memorable 80-episode team-up on the internationally popular "Mission Impossible".
Viewers will see them again at Lunar Base Alpha, a logical development after man conquered and tested the secrets of the Moon.

The text is closely based on ITC Year 1 publicity (it doesn't mention any of the actors roles after the series, or the second series at all). All the photos are from the first 12 episodes of Year 1, and most the same photos as the Panini album. The main exception is a single Year 2 photo included in the poster. Two of the four Eagle photos are upside down.
