Script To Screen

This is the "Temporary Final" version of the George Bellak "The Void Ahead" script. Now a proper main title sequence is described, with title cards for Landau, Bain, the series title, and Morse. There is also a montage of episode highlights (the script specifies no spoilers). These shots, apart from the montage, still follow the story, although they could be used in later episodes.

This Keith Wilson painting shows the original title shot described below. It is a very close echo of a similar shot in 2001: A Space Odyssey; perhaps it was thought to be too close, although a version of it is present in the Turning Point script
