Extended days were rare, but Thursday 29th January 1976 was one, involving filming over 5 different Moonbase sets on "L" stage.
The first scenes, starting at 8:30 in the morning, are the extras running down the corridors- first the laser crew, then the pilots in spacesuits. The main cast arrive on set for 9:30, for the final corridor scene, where Koenig promises to bring Fraser back to Annette.
From 10am, the crew moves to Medical, where we have the opening scenes, with Helena narrating in Medical Center. Brian Blessed has to be present to be shown on the communications post, announcing the pilots are safe and reassuring Annette. The last Medical scene shows Annette saying she is returning to her station.
From 11am, the crew can move to the Eagle pilot section, where the majority of today's scenes are shot. First we have Fraser and Torens in Eagle 1 in the opening sequence, flying over the planet, then being trapped by the light.
From 11:30, the set becomes Eagle 4. They start with the very final shots of the episode, with Fraser seeing Annette on the Eagle screen. This shot is moved up first, so John Hug and Anouska Hempel can finish their scenes for the day. We also have the brief scene with Alan piloting the Eagle out of the crater before the planet explodes. Then the action shifts back to much earlier in the episode, and all the scenes travelling to Psychon and being trapped by Mentor's ship, up to the point where they look out at the spaceship graveyard.
Finally the crew will shoot all the Weapons Section shots, which are very brief. It is possible that the Eagle pilot section shots may overrun, but by lunch time they should know if they will get to those scenes. Peter Porteous is on stand-by, and may be dismissed at 1pm if they won't get to his scenes until the following day.
