The episode was filmed between Thursday March 4th 1976 and Wednesday March 17th 1976, meeting the ten-day schedule for the episode. The final days had a number of unusual requirements: a choreographer (Lionel Blair, a well-known personality on UK TV in the 1970s and 1980s), and a macaw for Maya's transformation. On the same day, pick-up shots for The Metamorph were filmed by David Lane, and for The Exiles by Ray Austin.
Gerry Anderson's series Thunderbirds, mentioned in the call sheet footnote, would return to the top of the "hit parade", becoming the most popular children's series on British television in the early 1990s and then again in 2000, twenty-five years after it was made.

NOTE:
"THUNDERBIRDS", produced twelve years ago, is now top of the hit parade in France,
Holland and Iran. It has just premiered in these countries after all these years.
For nostalgic reasons the pilot episode "TRAPPED IN THE SKY" will be screened in
Theatre No.1 on Wednesday, March 17, 1976, commencing 5.45 p.m. All members of
the unit and cast are invited to attend if they wish - it could be fun.
