At the end of the episode, Alan and Sahala kiss goodbye, an unusual romantic ending to an episode.
An additional scene was scripted and filmed (on Monday 8th November) returning to Medical as Tony recovers from his operation. It's a typical Freiberger humorous ending. It returns the focus to Maya and Tony, and their lightweight banter. With Maya transforming into Dorzak, his menace is undermined in order to make the joke.

SAHALA
Crotons are conditioned never
to be sad at a parting ... but
I am ashamed to say I am sad at
this one.
ALAN
I'm not conditioned ... and
I'm not ashamed of the way I
feel ... knowing I will never
see you again.
SAHALA
How does your species say
'goodbye'?
He looks at her a moment, then he kisses her for a long
moment, then:
ALAN
How do they say goodbye on
Croton?
She thinks a moment, then kisses him for a long moment.
SAHALA
The way you say goodbye is
better.
72 INT. MEDICAL CENTER 72
TONY, HELENA, MAYA and BEN. TONY makes a movement to
rise.
TONY
Look, it was a simple operation,
right? I feel fine.
HELENA gently pushes him back.
HELENA
Just relax and in a couple of
hours you'll be your old self.
MAYA
(mock disappointment)
His old self? I was hoping
for an improvement.
TONY glares at her ... picks up the capsule. Half rises
again.

TONY
Helena, make an adjustment to
this thing for me, will you?
Something that will make it
impossible ever to hear Maya's
voice again.
MAYA shoves him back onto his back and begins to fluff
the pillow roughly behind him.
MAYA
Quiet, invalid ... I'm not
leaving your side until I
nurse you back to health.
She transforms into DORZAK.
TONY
(to HELENA)
You know Helena, I'd settle
for Dorzak instead of her.
FAVOR MAYA
She returns to her own form.
FULL SHOT
MAYA leans over and kisses him quickly.
HELENA
I'm afraid you're going to
have to suffer.
TONY
(mock anger)
Yeah.
He grabs MAYA and pulls her toward him to kiss her.
