This ITC memo from Martin Landau's archives confirms a publicity photo session for Martin Landau and Barbara Bain (her name mis-spelled twice here).

The photographer was David James; later he would be particularly associated with publicity stills for Tom Cruise movies. These shots included the actors in and out of costume, but at the Pinewood photo studios, not on set (this was 21 November 1973, filming did not begin until 3 December). No photos attributed to James are known, although there are a large number of studio portraits shown here and widely used in publicity. Photo licensing companies attribute these to another well known photographer, David Litchfield. It is possible these were actually by David James, although a second photo session with Litchfield is also possible.

This is to confirm that the photo-session has been arranged for the afternoon of the 21st at 2 p.m in Pinewood's Photographic Studios with Barbara Baine and Martin Landau.

David James is the photographer.

It will start with a portrait session and then costumes. Make-up, hairdressing and wardrobe will be in attendance.
