Landau and Bain in rather formal poses. Martin Landau looks very stern, but there are a few pictures where they both break into smiles. His hair is a little more shaggy than in the series, so this may have been shot before he started filming. Neither Landau or Bain have commlocks on their belts.

These photos have been credited to Patrick Lichfield, but it is possible they were by David James (who is documented to have shot Landau and Bain in a studio on 21st November 1973, before filming began).

Several of these shots were used on the covers of the UK ITC video tapes in the 1990s, the French Sony video tapes, the UK Carlton DVDs in 2001, and two of the US A&E DVDs plus the Megaset. A surprising number of these shots are flopped left for right.
