This is the special effects storyboard for the episode The Seance Spectre. The sequence of the crash landing is broken into several shots. The final episode is slightly different, as the editor has split up the shots and moved some around.

Scene 60, slate 11X. Eagle side slips into frame and then straightens up. Red mist.

There are side views of the Eagle in clouds, but the editor repeats a shot of the camera panning right over the Eagle.

Scene 60A, slate 12X. P.O.V thro window of planet's surface rushing up. Red mist.

Replaced in final cut with shot from scene 58, "Through the red mists, the surface of a red-black planet hurtling straight towards them." Maya's voice is heard over "Commander, it's a planet." (a line not in the original script).

After a brief shot of Koenig and Maya, there is a second P.O.V. shot of the zooming into the planet surface, without the Eagle viewport frame.

Scene 60B, slate 13X. Crashing Eagle belly flops on to planet surface skids out of shot breaking undercart etc.

Scene 60C, slate 14X. P.O.V. thro window as Eagle skids across planet surface heading for dune.

Not used. There is a brief interior shot of Koenig and Maya.

Scene 60D, slate 15X. Eagle enters frame bounces off dune - more damage. Red mist.

Shot includes a large explosion.

Scene 60E, slate 16X. Eagle enters right frame fast and buries nose in large dune. Red mist.

Scene 60F, slate 17X. Final impact. Red mist.

Scene 64. Deleted.

Original script: "Through the red mist, we see the Eagle is vaguely outlined, partially buried in the red dust."

Scene 66, slate 16X. Slow crab track on Eagle as sc.60F and finish as sc66. Red mist.

Changed to an aerial shot, tracking in a circular motion left.

Scene 71A, slate 17X. Clouds of red dust rise as the forward thrusters fire.

Scene 73, slate 18X. Set-up as Sc 71A thrusters firing as tail slowly sinks towards surface.

Scene 75, slate 19X. Set-up as Sc 71A tail continues to drop

The editor cuts several shots from the shots into the episode.

Scene 77, slate 20X. All downward thrusters fire and Eagle lifts off FLH. Pod drops off as it rises.

The editor cuts it into three parts, in-between shots of Koenig and Maya.
