The first Space: 1999 advert by ITC in Variety, Wednesday 14th November 1973, p33. This is part of a 12 page advert showcasing their future series. Filming had not yet started on the series (it started 3rd December).

Barry Morse had just been cast (announced the previous day, 13th November), but appears anyway for The Zoo Gang, which would appear in the UK in April 1974 and in the US on NBC in July 1975.

The other future programme mentioned here (original title Alle origini della mafia) is another co-production with RAI, eventually shown in 1976. It was narrated by Richard Johnson and one of the stars was Katharine Ross.
