Script To Screen

In the epilogue, Taybor takes back his trades.

The Taybor

The Alphans trades are returned. Left to right: Micky Clarke, unknown (red sleeve, but her id picture shows Annie Lambert), Karen Cooper (yellow sleeve), Glenda Allen (brown sleeve), Ian Flint (red sleeve).

114 INT. RECREATION CENTER 114

Some Alphans on hand, amusing themselves with the article
TAYBOR has traded to them. Suddenly it vanishes and
their old belongings return. Amazement!

115 INT. COMMAND CENTER 115

YASKO

Commander - I'm getting reports
from all over Alpha. All the
Trader's goods are vanishing ...
and everyone's old things are
reappearing - sweaters, roller-
skates, a ship-in-a-bottle...

(listening)

...and the mess coffee-pot has
materialised in the Recreation
Center - and smashed the juke-box.

In an 8th April revised pink page, some of Yasko's dialogue is given to Helena.

HELENA

Everyone's old things are
reappearing - sweaters, roller-
skates, a ship-in-a-bottle...
...and the mess coffee-pot has
materialised in the Recreation
Center - and smashed the juke-
box.

The Taybor

On filming this changes again. As we saw before, the trades were with familiar Alphans, and the roller skates were replaced by Yasko's bonsai tree. Yasko is sitting in Command Center with them, and her silver ball is presumably in her quarters, not left in a public area, so how would they know it has been swapped? The coffee pot and juke box are deleted, but Vincent's ship is now outside the bottle. "All our things are reappearing. Kate's sweater, Yasko's bonsai tree, Doctor Vincent's ship- outside the bottle."

The original 31st March script has a slightly different last page. In this version, Maya had taken the jump drive diagram when she was released from the Emporium.

MAYA walks towards console, beside which she materialised,
and impishly produces a rolled drawing.

MAYA

But ... Commander .. I've
brought back the plans of the
jump-drive.

She holds them up in full view.

A BEAT

They disappear.

KOENIG

Looks like he's a sore loser
after all.

TONY

(looks over at MAYA)

One word and he'd've given you
the Universe, huh?

MAYA

(impishly)

He had a nice way of speaking
... unlike some people I know!

HELENA

From now on we beware of
Traders bearing gifts.

KOENIG

I don't know about that
perfume he gave you...
I wonder...

HELENA

(smiles provocatively)

Hmmmm. That's what perfume is
for. To keep men wondering ...

THE END

On 13th April, a revised blue page just had the jump drive disappearing from Koenig's desk, and Helena's last line is reworked

She laughs and starts out. He stares after her.

THE END

The Taybor

In the screened version, the jumped drive disappears from Koenig's hands in a jump cut.

The Taybor

Koenig's and Helena's last lines are reworked again for the filmed episode. Koenig says "I was just thinking of that perfume Taybor gave you." Helena replies "Keep thinking. We don't need Taybor's perfume."
