Ernst Queller was originally named Ernst Queller, and invented the Queller Drive use to power Voyagers One and Two. After the Voyager Two disaster in 1985, he changed his name. "He was Queller, but his name was changed to Linden by Earth command before he was assigned to Alpha."

Voyager's Return

Linden works in the Experimental Lab on Moonbase Alpha, with Jim Haines. Unusually, he wears a lab coat, and has a pipe, although he never smokes it.

He died using the self-destruct of Voyager One to protect Alpha from the Sidons.

Linden appears in the Powys book Shepherd Moon (2010), story "Cargo" by Brian Ball.
