The Production Guide
The first day of shooting was on Thursday 24th October 1974, the first of 4 days on the Main Mission set. The action goes up to that start of Act One, after the opening titles, as the Eagles take off. The attack will start on day 2, Friday 25th.
Filming then skips immediately to the epilogue, scenes 181 onwards.
For scene 13, Nick Tate is required to be in spacesuit, sitting in the Eagle chair. The shots in the Eagle command module would not be filmed until Friday 1st November, but this close-up of the Main Mission screen required only a very small part of the set, filmed by a live TV camera to the side of the Main Mission set.
