Script To Screen

Devil's Moon script

This page begins approximately where the scene begins in the screened version. Martin Landau's handwritten amendments serve to reinforce his shocked reaction to Elizia's comments, although in the event the "certainly" and "We are not violent" line from earlier in the scene were not used.

In the next scene, the explicit sexuality of Elizia's comment "No male has ever wished to rush from my presence." was toned down a little; her spoken line is "Why should you wish to rush from my presence?" In editing, a scene of Alibe in the Eagle was inserted between the two scenes.

KOENIG

Yes. I know that now. If you

ELIZIA

I cannot allow any aliens to
land here.

KOENIG

What? I don't understand.

We are certainly no threat to you. We are not violent-
My name is John Koenig,
commander of Moonbase...

ELIZIA

We have probed your brain.
I know about you.

They have reached the Security Ward. They enter.

The INTERROGATOR is there.

KOENIG

Then you know that you won't

KOENIG

My people know where I am.
They'll come for me.

ELIZIA

No male has ever wished to
rush from my presence. Stay
with me and you will experience
undreamed of pleasures ... until
I tire of you.

KOENIG

(annoyed)

What's your boredom quotient?

ELIZIA

(lightly)

That will be determined by you.

There is an electronic sound, ELIZIA looks toward screen.
