Astronauts wear a Portable Life Support System (PLSS) on their back, containing their oxygen and cleaning the carbon dioxide.

They don't always wear the PLSS, for instance wearing the EVA pack, or the silver firefighter suit, so there must be a smaller oxygen supply in the DCM chest pack.
