The Mark Of Archanon

The shooting schedule for The Mark of Archanon was issued 27 April 1976, with filming starting on Tuesday 4th May. It was scheduled for 10 filming days, finishing on Monday 17th. The filming would slightly overrun, finishing on Tuesday 18th, the same day that Brian The Brain started.

Filming was scheduled by sets and stages, not following the story chronologically. Each day had to complete between 5 and 7 pages of the 75 page script (minus any model effects, which were done at Bray Studios). The opening scenes in the lunar caves would be filmed last, on Friday 14th and Monday 17th.

From call sheets and original sound tapes we know the cave scenes were filmed on Monday 17th and 18th.

But because of the difficulty of scheduling between the two episodes, the cross-over scenes of Koenig and Maya in the Eagle command module for The Mark of Archanon had not been filmed. There were also shots of them with Tony in the same set for The Rules Of Luton. The shooting schedule for Brian The Brain included one day, Wednesday 19th May, to film those shots.

As seen earlier, there was further filming on or after 20th May, so there was further shooting on or after that date.
