Care Unit 3 is a large ward with four beds. It appears in Matter Of Life And Death and Ring Around The Moon. This is the first time we see the standard Medical computer bank, with 3 screens, at the head of the beds. Furnishings include the Ergastolo folding screen (designed by Walter Eichenberger), a Giano ashtray (Emma Gismondi Schweinberger, 1966) and a Stadio 120 table (Vico Magistretti, 1966).
Filmed on L stage on 15th-16th January 1974.
Stadio 120 table with Gaudi chair. On the table is a Lucciola desk lamp and a molecular "ball and stick" model (the black balls are carbon, red is oxygen, white is hydrogen). The ball-and-stick models are also seen in Helena's office and Bergman's quarters.
There are two beds on each side. Russell is on one side. Note the mirror on the central shelf unit (which appears later in The Taybor)
On the other side are Parks and Bannion. There's a Ergastolo folding screen, by a Selene chair
This is the only time we see a bit of the 4th wall at the end of Care Unit (where the camera and crew normally stand).
The left wall panels for Matter Of Life And Death (top) and Ring Around The Moon (bottom).
In Ring Around The Moon the individual computer panels have changed since Matter Of Life And Death but the layout is identical.
Later in Ring Around The Moon the beds are removed, and the lights go pale green (in the final scenes of the episode, they are white again).
