Big Microscopes

We saw a number of small microscopes, both real and prop versions. There were also some tall instruments which appeared frequently in Year 2. We don't know what they are, but they have what look like eyepiece hoods (Maya is looking in one in All That Glisters). Electron microscopes are similarly tall columnar shapes, although you wouldn't expect to find them in an office setting like Command Center.

In Victor's quarters in Matter of Life And Death and Black Sun there's a large white microscope. We will get to see it prominently throughout the series.

In the 1996 Technical Section in Dragon's Domain the white scope has become grey, and there is another white scope. Both will appear throughout the second series. The scope now has a small dome on top and a rigid silver pipe. The pipe disappears in Year 2, although we do see a flexible silver tube from the top in the last episodes.

It appears again in the Eagle in The Metamorph. It's also in Command Center on a side desk, standing upright. It has an eyepiece hood on a hinge; we couldn't see if that was present in Dragon's Domain because it was facing away from us.

It is also in the Eagle in All That Glisters, when Maya is looking in the eyepiece.

Otherwise we see it on side desks in Command Center, in the camera foreground. It's not visible in every episode, and in some episodes it is only in certain scenes (it would be moved for individual camera angles, so continuity suffered). It can be seen falling when the first shockwave strikes in The AB Chrysalis, but the prop is obviously undamaged as it appears until The Dorcons.
