Although the standard living quarters were rebuilt several times, the overall plan is consistent with only 3 significant variations, see below. Overall dimensions are are 36ft x 28ft (11m x 8.5m).
The variations:
Helena's quarters in Matter Of Life And Death. In the bed area, there is no open cupboard, just a second door.
Married quarters in Force Of Life. The room length is extended from the standard 36ft/11m to 44ft/13.5m, with a separated bed area and double doors. This is the only time we see the bathroom door open, but we don't see the opposite side of the bed area. The communications post is moved to one corner of the room.
Bergman's quarters had a very different plan, as did the Year 2 layout.
The panels behind the bed are always coloured.
The door control panel, and which way the door opens, varies.
The open cupboard in the bed area is not present in Black Sun when we see the view from the bed to the door; a blank panel replaces it (it would have been distracting in that camera angle). Helena's quarters in Matter Of Life And Death also does not have an open cupboard; there are single doors either side of the bed area.
We only see this wall and this side of the living quarters clearly in Koenig's quarters in Breakaway, although occasionally we see into the living quarters through the windows (Guardian Of Piri, Force Of Life and Dragon's Domain).
Koenig's quarters in Breakaway has the viewscreen, normally seen in Koenig's office. This is the only time it appears in the living quarters.
This is standard arrangement, with two small video screens. The partial Koenig's quarters in Missing Link also follows this pattern, as does Smitty's in Black Sun (although the communications post and room divider swap sides). The desk panel has an additional "min/max" control for heating added in Force Of Life, and present in all following episodes. It is used again for lighting in Dragon's Domain.
Cellini's quarters in Dragon's Domain. Two striped panels are swapped for blank panels, because of paintings, spears and axes placed in front of them.
Helena's quarters in Dragon's Domain (above, bed to left) and Matter Of Life And Death (below, bed to right). The green panel from Matter Of Life And Death was mauve in Dragon's Domain, but is shown here in green to show how they replicated the same configuration. This panel is in orange in the Zoref quarters in Force Of Life. Note that the desk and comms panel switch positions in this configuration.
