The Year 2 corridor was 84 feet/25.6m long.
At one end were two narrow side corridors, followed by an intersection. This was between a side corridor into Travel Tube Reception, with Command Center opposite on the main corridor. At the next intersection was a Technical Lab (occasionally opened up into a corridor), opposite another side corridor leading to Medical Centre. At the far end the corridor had a left turn, and a door to the Living Quarters.
The corridor set was a standing set (see plan below), which remained on stage L throughout the series.
In a few episodes, new corridors were created. In some episodes of Year 2 (Mark Of Archanon, The Bringers Of Wonder part 1), the new corridor was created using the Life Support Set and the existing Medical Centre corridor.
The corner units are sometimes illuminated in different colours. The corners are not always the same colours; the Alpha Map is almost always white (the exception is Space Warp when it is lit in red).
There are two communications posts, one in each of the corridor intersections (Command Center/Reception, and Life Support/Medical). They are not central in the intersection, typically standing a little back away from whatever the camera position is.
An unusual example of the communications post in the corridor, rather than the intersection. The side direction signs point at walls.
The doors to Command Center are opposite the Travel Tube Reception corridor. There is a red sign above the door, not often seen, and unlike the interior no "A" signs on the doors. In The Mark Of Archanon the doors open to a storage room.
The wall map is on the corner with the Travel Tube Reception, and can frequently be seen from Command Center. This is a modified version of the map that was in the year 1 corridor.
The red "Weapons Section" sign in the central corridor is prominent in most early episodes. This is the only door on this side of the main corridor section; the other side has either 1 or 2 doors. The Weapons Section door has no bottom lip; the door(s) on the other side have bottom lips.
But it is often removed (the Weapons Section set is visible, but the sign is gone).
The doors to Life Support are rarely closed. It is closed in The Beta Cloud (as Life Support), in The Bringers Of Wonder part 2, with no signage and The Seance Spectre as Computer Room. It is also closed for the Research Section in The Lambda Factor
More commonly it is open, either to the Life Support set or a modified version which serves as another corridor. This is most notably used in The Mark Of Archanon as the rugby corridor, and The Bringers Of Wonder part 1 as the Records Lab corridor; it also features in The Bringers Of Wonder part 2.
The corridor to Medical Center is a long (20ft) corridor, often with a gurney left outside. The Medical Center door is a single door, positioned centrally in the 8ft wide wall section, with a sign. To the right is another single door, usually marked with a sign "Computer Room". For most of the series, there is an illuminated panel alongside it, but that disappears in The Beta Cloud (see below).
The corridor is featured in The Mark Of Archanon as the rugby corridor, but otherwise most action happens around the intersection (for instance the kendo fight in The Bringers Of Wonder part 1).
In The Beta Cloud only, a new door is added, "Main Electrical Unit, Corridor 34", with a small store room. The is not a standard door, it is a sliding panel with a thin frame.
The single door at the end of the corridor looks similar to the Command Center end, but there are minor differences
There is a narrow (4ft/1.2m wide) corridor to the left. It is not a right angled corner- there is standard curved corner.
For most of the series, this is the configuration- the wall from the Medical corridor has 3 blank panels, the door, and a 2ft blank section before the end wall.
The Living Quarters door often has a sign on the door, and a bigger "Living Quarters" sign alongside it.
In The Bringers Of Wonder part 1, this configuration appears for this single sequence. It is back to normal when we see it during The Bringers Of Wonder part 2 when the Alphans faint in the corridor. The end door now central, with the control panel on the left. The living quarters door has moved up one place along the corridor.
The end and Living Quarters wall are back as standard in this shot from The Seance Spectre, but the door on the other side has gone, replaced by a blank wall. There are no clear views in other episodes to determine if the door is missing in other late episodes.
There are narrow (4ft/1.2m wide) corridors leading either side, with right angle corners.
At this end of the corridor there is a single door (with a bottom lip) and a black sign "Security" (from The Metamorph to Seed Of Destruction; it is gone in The Beta Cloud and later episodes). There is also a red sign "Weapons Section, Corridors", which is present in all episodes.
The single door is seen in The Lambda Factor but in The Seance Spectre it becomes a blank panel, which is also seen in The Dorcons.
For most of the series there are 3 doors, with the Weapons Section door on one side, and two other doors facing them. We last see this configuration in The Bringers Of Wonder part 2.
The Weapons Section side, with a single door, will be unchanged in the 2 door and 1 door alternative configurations.
We see all 3 doors being opened in certain episodes.
In One Moment Of Humanity we see Koenig's name on one of the doors, and Helena's on the other.
At the end of the series, from The Lambda Factor onwards, the central corridor is changed, removing one of the 3 doors. The last panel before the corner to Medical Center is changed from an illuminated panel to a blank panel.
In The Beta Cloud, we see both the conventional 3-door corridor, and a new 1 door variation; the Weapons Section door has disappeared, leaving a wall of blank panels. There was also a 2 door variation with the Fire Point 23a.
The corridor is often completely empty of furnishings, but in some (mostly earlier) episodes we see Selene chairs
A coffee machine appears in The Mark Of Archanon and The Beta Cloud. This is sometimes seen in Travel Tube Reception and Command Center, and by the door to the elevator.
The Jarama desk appears in One Moment Of Humanity, a rare appearance outside Travel Tube Reception.
In Year 2, the corridor set connected Command Center, the Travel Tube and Eagle, Medical, Life Support/Power, Living Quarters and the Weapons Section. In Year 1, the corridor was not a standing set, being rebuilt in each episode. It also did not connect to any other sets apart from the Travel Tube.
A number of special corridors were seen, either as an extension to another set, or for unique sets.
